Things have been tight for many of us and our Ohio Libraries are no different with funding cuts. In Wood county some of the libraries are closing their doors for a week to save money, reducing hours of operations, increasing fines and putting a hold on new purchases. This is where it gets creative and I am so impressed. Debra Manley of Wood county thought of a sisterhood of traveling pants and asked three of her friends for help and they hope to raise $10,000 or more. When you receive the pants you place whatever you can up to $100 and a note of your first or most memorable moment from the Library in a pants pocket.
In this down economic time the library is where many of us flock. Now that I have been doing some frugal classes I am seeing all the many activities for adults and children.
When I read this story in the Toledo Blade this morning, I thought; Wow, we can figure things out and help each other and just pull together.
Have a blessed day, Candy
