I have been noticing many Americans
are finding it harder to make ends meet and it is getting closer to home. I talked with an old friend I hadn’t
seen in awhile and told her I would stop by soon. She pulled me aside and said “Candy I don’t think you know but
we lost our home, my husband was unable to work and we just couldn't keep up” I was emotionally shaken. This is
a hard working family and worked hard to own their own home. Their dream was gone now. I thought this happened to other people
not so close to home. I went home and wept for her because she looked broken and didn’t have anyone to help them. I
have always thought if I was in a bad way I could go to my folks, but they are retired and they have their own worries now.
Most of us don’t have anyone to go to and let’s face it we are adults and we need to stand on our own two feet,
but it’s nice to know you have a soft place to fall.
I began to think how could I help people when I don’t have extra
cash to give? I love frugal tips and hints and I could start a website. Any frugal idea that comes my way is like a
special treat I can’t wait to try, sometimes they are Wow moments other times they aren’t worth the trouble.
My thoughts for this website is to help us in these tough times and get back to basics. You will find frugal ideas,
cleaning tips and even some valuable lessons so we don’t have to work so hard for what we want or have. I
have talked with many seniors and I feel they are an untapped resource we aren’t using. Many of us do not know how to
cook, clean or do laundry. My feeling is we have been over extended since we were young. We think “I need to fulfill
myself with work, money and activities.” We have forgotten about the simple things like The Lord, family, community
and home. We don’t invite family and friends to our homes because our home is too messy or we just don’t have
time. Many of our younger generation don’t know how to budget or manage money. We live in a wants not needs, throw away
and buy new, feel good it’s all about me society. (To read today's post)
